How To Build Sliding Drawers For Kitchen Cabinets

Instructions:

1. Cut the drawer sides and back. The sides of the drawer should be the same height as the opening in the cabinet, and the back should be 1/2-inch shorter than the sides. Cut the pieces to size using a circular saw.

2. Attach the sides and back to the bottom. Apply wood glue to the bottom edges of the sides and back, and then clamp them to the bottom. Drive 1-1/4-inch wood screws through the sides and back into the bottom.

3. Cut the drawer front. The drawer front should be the same width as the opening in the cabinet, and it should be 1/2-inch taller than the sides. Cut the piece to size using a circular saw.

4. Attach the drawer front. Apply wood glue to the top edge of the drawer front, and then clamp it to the top of the drawer. Drive 1-1/4-inch wood screws through the front into the sides.

5. Install the drawer slides. Attach the drawer slides to the sides of the drawer and the inside of the cabinet. Make sure that the slides are aligned properly so that the drawer opens and closes smoothly.

6. Install the drawer pulls. Choose drawer pulls that match the style of your kitchen cabinets and install them on the front of the drawer.
